Recueillant les criminels les plus dangereux du pays ainsi que des prisonniers politiques, tr\u00e8s peu de personnes \u00e9taient autoris\u00e9es \u00e0 s\u2019approcher de l\u2019\u00eele ce qui a eu pour cons\u00e9quence de maintenir les bucherons \u00e9loign\u00e9s et ainsi prot\u00e9ger l\u2019\u00eele de la d\u00e9forestation. Cela \u00e0 aussi permis de pr\u00e9server les fonds marins, et ainsi de prot\u00e9ger la cordill\u00e8re sous-marine qui relie l\u2019\u00eele de Coco et les \u00eeles Galapagos. Devenu un parc national en 1991, le gouvernement panam\u00e9en a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger 760 diff\u00e9rentes esp\u00e8ces de poissons. C&rsquo;est \u00e9galement le dernier refuge pour un certain nombre d&rsquo;animaux terrestres menac\u00e9s, tels que l&rsquo;aigle \u00e0 cr\u00eate et plusieurs sous-esp\u00e8ces d&rsquo;agouti, d&rsquo;opossum et de singe hurleur (y compris un singe hurleur de l&rsquo;\u00eele de Coiba).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Les eaux adjacentes \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00eele regorgent de vie marine. l&rsquo;\u00eele est entour\u00e9e par l&rsquo;un des plus grands r\u00e9cifs coralliens de la c\u00f4te pacifique des Am\u00e9riques. Le courant indo-pacifique traversant le golfe de Chiriqui offre un environnement de plong\u00e9e unique. Le courant chaud apporte avec lui le corail et bon nombre de la vie sous-marine tropicale du Pacifique que vous ne pouvez pas attendre sur la c\u00f4te pacifique des Am\u00e9riques. Les plus gros poissons \/ mammif\u00e8res tels que les baleines \u00e0 bosse, les requins, les requins baleines, les orques et plus que quelque 760 esp\u00e8ces de poissons ont \u00e9t\u00e9 itemprop=\"text\" ><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Santa Catalina est un petit village de p\u00eacheurs situ\u00e9 \u00e0 deux heures de Santiago et \u00e0 cinq heures de la ville de Panama. C&rsquo;est le point de d\u00e9part pour le trajet en bateau le plus court du continent jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00eele de Coiba et \u00e0 son parc national. Il y a deux petites \u00e9piceries, des vendeurs de fruits et l\u00e9gumes et de nombreux h\u00f4tels et restaurants pour tous les budgets. La ville principale la plus proche est Son\u00e1, situ\u00e9e \u00e0 un peu plus d&rsquo;une heure de bus. Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une petite ville, mais vous y trouverez de plus grands supermarch\u00e9s et d&rsquo;autre facilit\u00e9s, notamment un bureau de poste et une banque. \u00c0 Santa Catalina se trouve une pharmacie et m\u00eame un coiffeur mais il n\u2019existe pour l&rsquo;instant ni m\u00e9decin, ni banque ou distributeur de billets. Il est donc important d\u2019apporter l\u2019argent liquide n\u00e9cessaire pour votre s\u00e9jour (bien que de nombreux \u00e9tablissements, comme nous, acceptent d\u00e9j\u00e0 les cartes de cr\u00e9dit) et assurez-vous que si vous avez besoin d&rsquo;un certificat m\u00e9dical pour la plong\u00e9e, vous le faites avant votre arriv\u00e9e ici.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Santa Catalina est maintenant une destination touristique et une grande partie des revenus de la petite communaut\u00e9 proviennent du tourisme. En haute saison (de d\u00e9cembre \u00e0 avril), les hotels se remplissent, tandis qu&rsquo;en basse saison, la ville ressemble \u00e0 un village endormi o\u00f9 vous pouvez vous perdre dans le rythme calme de la vie.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Les activit\u00e9s comprennent bien s\u00fbr la plong\u00e9e, mais aussi le surf (lieu des comp\u00e9titions de surf du monde ISA Reef, 2013), <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/supsantacatalina.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">le paddle (SUP)<\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.labuenavidahotel.com\/yoga#yoga-and-retreats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">le yoga<\/a>,<\/span> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fluidadventurespanama.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">le kayak<\/a><\/span>, la randonn\u00e9e et l\u2019\u00e9quitation. Si vous n&rsquo;avez pas de GPS, il est recommand\u00e9 de chercher la Route 4 en direction de Sona. Juste avant d&rsquo;arriver \u00e0 Sona, vous arriverez \u00e0 une station service Delta. Prenez la premi\u00e8re \u00e0 gauche et suivez les indications pour Santa Catalina. En tout, pr\u00e9voyez six heures. De Sona, prenez la correspondance pour Santa Catalina (une heure et demi. 4.65$). Notez que le dernier bus part de Sona vers 16h30. Si vous ratez votre correspondance, votre seule option sera de prendre un taxi (qui co\u00fbte environ $40). De Boquete ou Bocas, prenez un bus pour David puis un autre pour Santiago.
